if you're feeling sinister

There's nothing like going to a New Year's party and running into an ex...that reports a conversation that he's just had with another another ex...
His parting words: "You're out of your fucking mind...but in the best possible way." What does that even mean?
Word. Happy New Year.

some self-portraits with a weird border that I don't understand.

the gashlycrumb tinies by edward gorey

Greg and Julie sent this early for the Holiday...Thanks so much! me and my sissy-in-law share a love of bookies and...the absurd? i didn't own any edward gorey, but I know she is a huge fan and I'm not in any way disappointed by his unreserved approach...realism for the little nuggets. sorry. life is rough.

happy surgearversary! (if you wanna use the quippy phrase, you'll have to take it up with julie-meow)

Yep, a year ago today was Greg's latest deep-dish brain surgery... what do you say? congratulations? I guess so, he deserves it. My big brother and his beautiful business savvy wife of one year hit a landmark. I love them both more than the miles between us, from here to Houston. (i would go on, but you know how emotional i get and all...)
*i can't make up for the fact that my most recent pics of them are from wedding '09. good looking though, huh? (Greg and Julie--kiss kiss--aug. '09 boston mass.)

*and yes... virtually all (recent) pics of greg and i don't show my face cause i've spent a lot of time over the years curling up in the comfort of older siblings...it comes with being baby sister i suppose.

to another year of major medical headway!!!

Howl

Last Friday, Alex Caldiero read Allen Ginsberg's Howl as celebration to the
55th anniversary of the first reading in 1955. It was haunting. Read about it.
It was incredible to see Caldiero actually lift the entire auditorium (and possibly the overflow) to stand and Howl together at the end this 'neo-bop opera in five acts.' I've read Howl at least a dozen times, but experiencing it hasn't ever reached a level this visceral/animal. But rather than write about it, I'd really suggest to read it on your own.

This was taken from Ginsberg's ca. loft in '97. Retarded. (in a good way)

Happy Birthday LIZ! ....
and google (and Rachie)
You've always been much cooler than me which is inspiring ya know? You're so clean and have many bold flavors of laughter that keep hearts afloat. Ya know? Assuming I could undo the years of friendship that have passed, I'd pick you in a heartbeat to live in a room next to mine with a connecting wall, I'd also pick you as a dance partner if there was prize money and glory involved in our winning. In other words, you're a sure thing and that kind of stability is comforting.
Mostly Lizbot, I love you with ma' heart and ma' soul. God bless that platinum hair and the bounty it brings

*Also, I love you Rach! HB. The well-crafted sister that makes motherhood so stylish.

HAPPY BDAY KELS BALLS!

Thank goodness this girl came home for the weekend....I say. Kelsey girl is one of those rare soulmate/sisters/spirit healer whatevers. It took only a few short minutes for us to fall in love all over again slash her to love the shit out of me and recharge my spiritual battery. She exudes a ridiculously celebratory energy....gorgeous. It is her bloody beautiful birthday and this girl deserves a perfect day if anyone did.
                                               Kels: right

For the bumkin, I decided to start her collection of
sign photographs from her world travels...

These are from a ten day blur in St. Maarten, where the beaches are beautiful and all of the animals have saggy boobs and skinny legs:
